Fundraising update…

The head of Medic Malawi, Stephen Drew, has declared himself “very chuffed” at the early indications of fundraising from the Big Breakfast in February.

In an email to MM supporters, Stephen said: “The Big Breakfast has been fantastic. Thank you a million times over  to all those who hosted or gave money. There is still some to trickle in, but its looking like £8,000+ , which is superbly chuffing.”

Among the fundraisers were Rev Frank Dzantange, in Lilongwe, with a choir for the occasion.

Said Stephen: “Their contribution is great and  shows us that we are all in this together.”

Rev Frank has sent us these pictures of the event.

There’s more fundraising in the offing, with a number of Medic Malawi supporters taking part in marathons in the coming weeks.

Among them are: Cathy Drew, Paul Cooke, Cathy Williamson and Mark Cooke, who will be running the Paris Marathon; Sam Edwards who will be slogging through 26-and-a-bit miles of Edinburgh; and Kathryn Shore, who will be doing the London Marathon.

Contact Stephen Drew at the address on the left for more details about the runners. You might just want to add to their sponsorship tally through justgiving.com.

Looking ahead, Stephen is making plans for other major 2012 events, including The Big Climb, and then The Big Give at Christmas.

Check back with the website or on Twitter for more details.
