News on Catastrophic Cyclone March 2019

My thanks for your emails and phone calls showing concern about the impact of Cyclone Idai in Malawi.

From the point of view of Mtunthama, I can report that the community escaped the force of it; the damage and loss of life was much further south in Malawi. But this is relatively small consolation in the overall picture of catastrophic devastation in the region, both immediately and for future harvests.

I have been in touch with Father Petro and Peter Minjale to pass on your love and good wishes. They have been very appreciative both for Mtunthama and especially on behalf of their brothers and sisters elsewhere in the country.

Thank you.

Stephen Drew
