Running for their lives… Singing for their supper

There is something for everyone soon, if you are within range of Shropshire

henry_oOn Friday April 26th Henry Olonga is top of the bill in a Concert at All Saints Church, Wellington at 7.30pm. The concert is being organised by Wellington Rotary Club in support of Medic Malawi, and tickets are £10 in advance through:, or £12 on the door
Learn more about Henry from his website at
It would be great to have your support for this event.
Wellington Rotary have been superb in the help they have offered to MedicM in a project examining and enabling  water supply at the hospital.
Says Stephen Drew: “Henry of course is a personal friend as well as being a key friend of MedicM. The youngest cricketer, and the first black cricketer, to represent Zimbabwe, his life changed with his immensely courageous and dramatic ‘black armbands’ protest against Robert Mugabe, which marked the end of his Test career and his life in Zimbabwe.
“But he is a sensational singer and entertainer, and he has built a new career in music. Please come if you can, to enjoy a great event, whilst at the same time  supporting MedicM.”

The Shrewsbury Marathon and Half Marathon is on June 23rd. I hope to have  runners for Medic Malawi, and a small tent/marque to welcome them (though I don’t actually have  a tent yet….)

Can anyone offer either :
                                  to run,
to run as part of a team
                                  to supply a tent/marquee
or to help man a tent  on the day ?
Any of these would be really helpful !
Thanks for thinking about these things. I do hope something here appeals. Next,  watch this space for the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge in September…..
